Michael Pavia
Chairman, Science Advisory Board
Dr. Michael Pavia is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence with the Boston-based venture capital firm, Oxford Bioscience Partners. His current efforts are focused on applying novel biology and chemistry to energy solutions and is actively involved with two Oxford portfolio companies, Luca Technologies and GloriOil. In addition to his work in energy, Dr Pavia continues in traditional biotech drug and technology development as a board member with Genstruct, Inc and Azevan Pharmaceuticals, two non-Oxford companies.
Prior to joining Oxford, Dr. Pavia was Chief Technology Officer at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, where his major focus was to improve the productivity of the drug discovery and development process through the appropriate use of new technologies. Dr. Pavia has over 20 years experience in pharmaceutical research and discovery. He was formerly Vice President-Cambridge Research at Sphinx Pharmaceuticals, a division of Eli Lilly & Co., focusing on the development of combinatorial chemistry technologies. Prior to Sphinx, Dr. Pavia held senior scientific positions in the Department of Chemistry at the Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Research Division of Warner-Lambert with a focus on CNS drug discovery. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Lehigh University and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. R.K. Pachauri

Dr. Rajendra K Pachauri is the Director-General of TERI (Tata Energy Research Institute). He is an internationally recognized figure
in energy and sustainable development, having served on numerous boards and committees including Director of the Oil and
Natural Gas Company of India; Director of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited; Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change, established by World Meteorological Organization and United Nations Environment Programme; Director of the Institute for
Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Environment Agency, Government of Japan; Board of the International Solar Energy
Society; Member of the World Resources Institute Council; Work Group Chairman of World Energy Council Committee on
Developing Countries; President of the Asian Energy Institute; Member of the Panel of Eminent Persons on Power, Ministry of
Power; Member of the Advisory Board on Energy, Government of India reporting to the Prime Minister of India; Member, National
Environmental Council, Government of India under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister of India; Member of the Oil Industry
Restructuring Group, for the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India; Member of the Economic Advisory Council
to the Prime Minister of India; and a Member of the International Advisory Board of Toyota Motors.
Dr. Pachauri has also held several teach positions including Director, Consulting and Applied Research Division at the Administrative
Staff College of India, Hyderabad; Visiting Professor, Resource Economics at the College of Mineral and Energy Resources, West
Virginia University; Senior Visiting Fellow, Resource Systems Institute, East -- West Center, USA; Visiting Research Fellow, The
World Bank, Washington, DC; and McCluskey Fellow at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, Yale University.
Dr Pachauri holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Economics from North Carolina State University. He has authored 21 books
and several papers and articles. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan -- one of India's highest civilian awards that recognizes
distinguished service of a high order to the nation in any field (January 2001).

Dr. Banwari Lal
Science Advisor
Dr. Banwari is the Director of Environmental & Industrial Biotechnology at The Energy Resources Institute (“TERI”) in New Delhi. TERI is a 600 person R&D facility with over 150 PhDs in five locations around India. Dr. Banwari developed the GloriOil technology while working at TERI, for which the Oil Minister in India gave him the National Petroleum Management Program Award in 2003. Dr. Banwari was a recent finalist for the World Technology Award, San Francisco. He has published over 25 papers and holds several MEOR patents. Dr. Banwari received his BS, MS and Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Rajasthan, India.

Dr. Michael McInerney
Distinguished Member of Technical Staff
Dr. McInerney is the George Lynn Cross Endowed Professor of Microbiology at University of Oklahoma. He is a world recognized
authority on MEOR with 5 patents on the subject and over 140+ journal articles published as well as 2 books and 13 book chapters.
Dr. McInerney has consulted on MEOR projects all over the world, has received decades of research funding, and has graduated a
dozen PhDs. He was selected as a Fellow to the American Academy of Microbiology. Dr. McInerney received his Ph.D. from the
University of Illinois.

Robert Belfer
Advisory Board Member
Robert Belfer is Founder of Belco Oil & Gas Corp., a company engaged in the exploration for and the acquisition, exploitation,
development and production of natural gas and oil. The company's operations are currently focused in four core operating areas,
namely the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming and North Dakota, the Gulf Coast primarily in Texas and Louisiana, the Permian Basin of
west Texas and the Mid-Continent region in Oklahoma and Kansas.
Mr. Belfer is a graduate of Columbia University and the Harvard Law School. He is also Chairman of the Board of Overseers of the
Albert Einstein College of Medicine, member of the Dean's Council of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, and member of
Board of Overseers of the Weill Cornell University Medical College.

Charles Fabrikant

Charles Fabrikant has been Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and Chief Executive Officer of SEACOR and has served as
a director of certain of SEACOR's subsidiaries since December 1989. He has been President of SEACOR since 1989. For more than
the past five years preceding its acquisition by SEACOR in December 2000, Mr. Fabrikant served as Chairman of the Board and
Chief Executive Officer of SCF. For more than the past five years, Mr. Fabrikant has been the President of Fabrikant International
Corporation ("FIC"), a privately owned corporation engaged in marine operations and investments that may be deemed an affiliate
of the Company.
Mr. Fabrikant is a director of Globe Wireless, and prior to the Chiles Merger, Mr. Fabrikant served as Chairman of the Board of
Chiles. Mr. Fabrikant is a licensed attorney admitted to practice in the state of New York and in the District of Columbia.

Trae Vassallo
Advisory Board Member
Trae Vassallo is a Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers. Since joining the firm in 2002, Trae has put her technical and
entrepreneurial background to work with new portfolio companies across several areas including wireless, consumer media,
security, and green technology. Trae works closely with the management teams of Aggregate Knowledge, a stealth energy
company, Digital Chocolate, Podshow and 3vr among others. Currently, Trae focuses primarily on new opportunities in consumer
media, mobility, and green technologies.
Prior to KPCB, Trae was a co-founder of Good Technology, a KPCB portfolio company (acquired by Motorola) that provides an end-
to-end wireless corporate email solution. While at Good, Trae helped orchestrate the development of the G100 handheld device.
Prior to Good Technology, Trae worked as a design engineer at IDEO Product Development where she developed a range of
products including the PalmV, the Dell Latitude Docking station, and many others. Trae holds 13 patents.
Trae earned a Bachelor's and Master's in Mechanical Engineering with honors from Stanford University and an MBA from the
Stanford Graduate School of Business. Trae is passionate about new technology, good design, and spending time with her husband
and two children.
