GloriOil is a Delaware corporation founded in 2005 to commercialize technology developed by The Energy and Resources Institute.

The company was founded by GTI Group in late 2005. In late 2006, ground was broken on our state of the art manufacturing facility and research lab in Houston, TX. All microbial manufacturing for US operations is performed at this lab. The blending facility is used to develop our proprietary nutrient mix which is loaded into transportation vessels for delivery at the well-site.

History
In 1997, ONGC (National Oil Company of India) commissioned The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to develop a microbial enhanced oil recovery technology to improve the production of its mature fields. Over the subsequent seven years, TERI scientists worked to advance a technology that has been in marginal use for over 50 years. Between 2001 and 2004 their technical developments were used on 25 wells in 3 fields in India with extraordinary results. The success of this pilot work led to bigger MEOR programs in India, and to the birth of GloriOil.
