The addition of customized microbes and nutrients to an ongoing water flood facilitates a cost effective, highly impactful method of improving oil recovery. Unlike any other additive to an injection process, microbes are free swimmers that can travel within the reservoir and grow in-situ, thereby releasing active agents in the reservoir away from the injection site, at pre-programmed locations to optimize permeability modification and hence increase both lateral and vertical sweep conformity.

Microbial flooding utilizes your current water-flood infrastructure and requires no significant capital cost outlay. It is a disruptive new technology; applied correctly it can significantly increase total oil recovery.
